meggsy - 21/8/08 at 05:23 PM

Now sorting the dash - What are the SVA requirements for the following??

Horn Switch - Position / Type
Rear Fog light switch - Position / Type
Position of speedo (thinking center of dash?)
Other switches - Fuel Prime / Fan Etc

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

Just need to ensure switches have no sharp edges really unless they sit within the exempt area. You dont need a horn for SVA so no need to worry about that except for radius edges if fitted.

Fog light switch - well you need a telltale to show when its working (ie seperate warning light or wire in the backlight to operate when the foglight is on)

Speedo - well i think they just require an uninterupted view of this - should be easy if fitting behind the wheel by using a standard Sierra wheel.

Don't forget the handbrake/low fluid level warning light.

.... but you'll need horn for MOT so best to fit it when everying is in bits rather than later.

another switch would be battery isolation switch = 1 means of immobilistation.

savage switches are really good but can be tricky to wire (really good and flat for sva man)
