i have a smiths telimatrix speedo and i got one of the sensors that goes directaly into type 9 speedo drive from burton power dose anyone no how to wire it up? what wire is what? there are three, black, brown and yellow/brown. The diagram that comes with the speedo head only requires 2 a possitive and an earth i think? or im looking at the wrong bit? Alsocan anyone tell me how to callibrate it i have the use of a taco rolling road that will give me accurate speed but i could be there a long time randomly guessing switch configurations as the instructions i have seem to be lacking any sort of explation please can someone help as the sva date is getting closer !!!

IIRC

Black = 12v
Brown = Earth
Yellow/Brown = Signal

Its been a few weeks since I wired mine.

Its a hall effect sensor and the gauge just requires the signal input.

Black is switched 12v
Brown is earth
Yellow is signal out to your gauge.

If you do a search there are a few posts to confirm this.

Tested mine and it is very smooth, much less jerky than the magnets.
