I recently perchaced a set of Jaegar Dials, but the rev counter is the mechanical kind!is there a way to get converted to the electrical type?

Trade it for a leccy one

You could just transplant the meter movement and electronics from an electronic tachometer, but it will need some level of calibration afterwards unless you happen to find one with exactly the same scale.

ooops!!

in sort, not easy nor cheap.

the cable driven instruments use a rotaing magnet that "drags" an aluminium disc - eddy effect - held back by a spring.

electrical one use pulses to apply a voltage to a coil.

wot thingy ^^^ says, you could look for an electical onewith the same scale and transplant it inside - or a speedo healer coult do the scaling.

alternative would be to somehow drive it from the crank pulley/belt or fit an electric motor to drive it. the latter would require electronics for it to work, non trivial I can assure you.
