wiring single light for brake and turn

I saw a diagram for how to do this on the US locostbuilders site, but the diode was from Radio Shack in the US, and we don't have those in Canada anymore. Any ideas on how to wire this?

How much time does it take to wire one of these cars, once the engine wiring is done? I would like to farm it out as I have done most of the mechanical parts of the build... I do have a loom with instructions, but honestly, I don't understand it. Things that confuse me are "attach the green wire..." when the wire is green AND yellow etc.

We lost Radio Shack, became "The Source" still in Canada Eh.

Except they don't recognise the Radio Shack codes. I'll see if I can find the link to the US site and the post in question.

the diode should have a model part as well as some manufacturer specific part number.

If you know the former, then any electronic component supplier should stock it.

without seeing your circuit, you would be switching filament bulbs - typically 2 A.

you would need a rectifier diode.
for example 1N5820 (3 A) P600A (6 A)

(note onf of those is a shottky diode - all that means is thathe voltage drop across it is less - a good thing but maybe a few cents more expensive).

Thank you but that is actually confusing me more. And those asking for diagrams: I don't know how to post those, and don't know what they mean anyways!! And believe me I have tried. School was a long time ago.

To date, I have been able to wire my rad fan successfully, so that it comes on when the fuel pump goes on (different relays!).
