Hi Folks!
I have a bit of an issue with getting an alternator for my zetec. I am running GSXR 600 TBs and the space between the bottom of the tb throttle
linkage and the oil filter is limited. The standard alternator is way too big and I have just tried an alternator from a bedford rascal van which is
smaller but still too big. Anyone got any suggestions for a smaller one? Can I use a bike one or are they all 6 volts?
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris, check ebay, kit car bits, usually several small alternators from jap cars. eg. Item number: 120308750645, dont know how to creat link.
I had the same space issue due to a chassis rail and I put on the other side where the engine mount is. So this alternator bracket shares the back two
bolts with the engine mount...
Check my archive under engine, for pics of the common or garden Lucas ACR alternator mounted above the oil filter.
Its a blacktop btw.
MInes a diahatsu charade jobler. Its bloody tight with the chassis. Im going in the garage in a min ill take a little picture.
