[Edited on 4/4/17 by Nickp]
Nice one Nick.
Congratulations!
Well done, just in time for the better weather, enjoy.
Congrats, perfect time of the year!
I would love to post something nice but I can't because I'm jealous.... but I guess well done or something
congratulations - that's a real hurdle done with, just the registration process to go through. If it goes anything like mine did you will be registered and on the road in just over a week - I would be interested to find out how much your road tax comes out at - £140 pa?
Congratulations mate !
Get those papers in the post.
Congratulations, hope you enjoy it!
Congratulations!
What was the solution to your emissions problem in the end?
Well done
Looks a nice car

I'd mistakenly added a 90degree adapter to one of the lambda sensors to avoid the bonnet. This caused the 2 sensors to react differently and made the ecu overfuel as a precaution. You live and learn eh?
SteveWallace - 4/4/17 at 12:13 PMWell done Nick. Hope to see it at a track day some time. Good luck with the registration process. Don't forget to copy everything and send it 'signed for' so that you have evidence that they got it
russbost - 4/4/17 at 12:16 PMNice one!
adithorp - 4/4/17 at 12:29 PMNice one!
Get the forms in to DVLA quick and you might just get to Stoneleigh.
nick205 - 4/4/17 at 12:30 PMWell done
I recall my own elation on getting through the SVA (as it was back then).
Yes they're quick - take it easy and get used to it first!

Grinning at the pass and laughing inside my helmet like a crazed madman at the ridiculous acceleration
rash12 - 4/4/17 at 07:31 PMwell done enjoy
gremlin1234 - 4/4/17 at 07:47 PMlooking at the iva sheet, my maths shows that to be
a little over 250bhp/tonne
should be adequate
well done!

Engine's derestricted with an M50 manifold and remapped, should be 220-230bhp. That 725kg was with the tester on board apparently, and a full tank. I weighed it nearer 630kg on its own with low fuel. Either way it feels bloody rapid
LBMEFM - 5/4/17 at 03:48 AMBrilliant, well done, another great car hits the road for the summer.
metel matt - 5/4/17 at 07:04 AMWell done. Nice to see another Haynes roadster on the road. Just in time for the summer fun
tims31 - 5/4/17 at 08:27 AMCongrats, just in time for the .....summer?
Get out there and enjoy, hope to get mine IVA's soon too.
Johneturbo - 5/4/17 at 08:35 AMWell done, it's a great feeling isn't it
mikeb - 5/4/17 at 11:09 AMWell done, looks really good same colour combo as mine!
Any tips? looking to fill in the paper work for mine in the next few weeks.
Did you have to space out the front indicators? Fog light wiring?
Not sure if you have it but any good quality pictures of your car inside and out in "IVA trim" would help me finishing mine off.
Only part left to buy is the centre mirror which one did you use?
Cheers fella
Mike

Here's a selection for you, some of these bits have now fell off
I used the IVA friendly mirror from CBS.
My indicators passed, JUST!!
I had to add an extra relay to get my fogs to work just off the heads not sides, switching off an earth from the column.
Don't forget some sort of warning light or clocks illuminating when sides/ heads on but ignition off (see my added on green light below dash, clocks would only light up with ign on)

Was it your fronts that just passed, guessing they were close to 400mm?

They were ok on that measurement as that's easy to check. It was the side view angles. It was the difference between him looking with one rye or the other
craigdiver - 14/4/17 at 05:31 PMWell done Nick, you must be sooooo pleased. Currently building a 2.5 E39 powered. Hope you don't mind but using your photos as an excellent reference. What radiator/fan combo did you end up using and does it seem to have enough cooling?
Cheers
Craig

I fitted the slightly bigger 1.6 Polo rad rather than the 1.0 that most folk go for. Time will tell if it's up to the job but it's been Ok so far just ticking over and its motorway run to the IVA.
craigdiver - 19/4/17 at 07:04 AMCheers Nick, also, never realised you could drive the car to the IVA, thought it had to be trailered.

I drove mine round the North Circular on a cold and damp October morning in rush hour and it was the first time it had been off the drive. Scary to say the least!

Yes you can. Just check your insurance company are OK with it. The one I'd been with for years with other cars (Classics mainly) wouldn't do it so I changed to A-Plan and they were fine with it.

I trailered mine for the initial test but once I knew the car only had a couple of minor issues I drove it the 1hr there for the retest and it was spot on
SJ - 19/4/17 at 10:18 AMMine was bloody awful to drive. The prop joint knocked on the chassis and the bump steer was dreadful. Still passed 1st time though.
CTLeeds - 19/4/17 at 10:35 AMWell done Nick. Enjoy driving it!
