Is there ford mechanic/engineer out there/on here?

Whilst giving my car (mondeo 2.2 tdci st 56 reg ) a service, I went to change my filter, and it was tight as a nun's

Then this happened

The plastic filter cap has a plastic nut, which cracked and leaked out oil. Managed to get the old one off ( had to use a hammer and chisel as the plastic nut 35mm just fell apart )

Think fords must have used an air gun to do it up.

Can these be bought on there own or is it a new oil pump..

And to top it off, when I drain the oil from the sump into my nice new bucket, it had a hole so there is oil over the drive, at least I cant move the car so the wife cant see the massive oil slick

Whoops, they are only supposed to be tightened to about 20NM or so

I work for one of the major breakdown companies and I have known these be stolen in the night, presumably by people in a similar position to you! Yes they are available on their own but you may have to order it I don`t think they are a stock item.

Is this the part ??

Also very worryingly, i was going to do an ooil change on my 2008 2.0 TDCI tomorrow !!

Gunk do some great driveway cleaner you can get from halfrauds. Wroked very well when this happened:

I now always use a big 24" x 24" deep sided tray, under the car, with the oil catch tank sitting inside, usually bought from garden centres
As i have had similar problems on an oil change !!
