That was an interesting failure. I would have done exactly the same, assuming the longest measurements were correct then the other holes should have lined up. I was quite surprised when the middle ones didn't work out.

It's a quick fix (and just the thing that iterative 3D prototyping was intended for), but I like the fact that he kept it in the video.

Sorry I don't think that was a great video. Its not a how to, its 'content' for the sake of making something.

Well I for one found it very useful.

Can't please everyone on a free channel I guess.

Shame you feel this way Mike, you are a long term LCBer and I respect your opinion so I would love to understand this a bit further and also wonder if that is your opinion on all my videos or just this one?

I thought I explained what I did and why pretty well. If people are unsure how to use Fusion360 or unable to follow their nose and find the right buttons etc I would have seen something in the comments and made a more in depth video.

personally I found it interesting, and with no 'false jeopardy'. Just admitting failure, and learning.
But I would have put the flat face on a flatbed scanner (or photocopier) to get it without parallax issues,
I think if doing it with photos, your best bet is use a longer lens and stand further away. and use a scale in every image where possible.
