A challenge for the Locost knowledgebase!
russbost - 23/6/10 at 09:57 AM

My son is planning a trip across Europe/the Balkans this summer & has sorted his train journeys & times for everywhere except Greece. For some reason Greece don't appear to publish timetables anywhere & their website gives a weird phone no. that doesn't connect with or without code for Greece.

Avy ideas????

At a rough guess, with all the strikes going on there at the moment, "timetable" might be far too strong a word to use in conjunction with their railways....

The best journeys are those for which you have done little planning...

Tell your son to just start traveling in the right direction and sort things out on the way.... its much more fun!

I agree, just sort somewhere to stay, youl get there somehow.

the greek transport system runs on GMT (greek maybe time) so it really isn't worth them publishing anything. its just setting themselves up for failure.

You're all cheating & have failed miserably so far
Come on I know you can do better than this - has this Q beaten the Locost massif????

You know what I wanted to do was get a big map of europe, then every morning work out how far I can go in a day, draw the circle and pick a direction.

Jasper - 24/6/10 at 09:34 AM

A few years ago, before we had the internet, we used to just head off somewhere and made it up as we went along, I travelled all over Asia for months at a time with no real idea where I would be going next.

Now we all (including me) seem to need to be able to organise everything down to the very last detail before we step out of the country. I for one get completely obsessed with Trip Advisor before I book anything.

Shame really, some of the best experiences of my life have come from a complete lack of planning

Brilliant guys - I knew you couldn't be beaten!
