Parcel courier companies?
David Jenkins - 14/9/05 at 09:19 PM

Can someone recommend a decent company to carry a lumpy package containing a couple of Baby Cub seats to someone within the UK?

I've been looking at the shipping costs on the Parcel Farce website and I'm less than impressed. I've also been less than impressed with their quality of service.

It would also be nice if the company can collect the parcel, rather than me having to cart it across town to a depot office.

cheers,
David

Maybe worth saying where from and to and seeing if someone on here s going that way?

i would recommend UPS, except they were a bit arsey about how it was packaged... and the driver who collected it was bloody useless. And apparently other companies are cheaper.

Aside from that, all good.

Don't whatever you do pick $h1ttylink, oops sorry, CityLink. We seem to be afflicted badly in this area with complete useless tw@ts running the local depot.

Shame that companies use them because they are cheap. I've paid extra for next day delivery and it rarely turns up the next day.

My last experience was just last week in fact. My DVD player didn't turn up on Thursday because it had been sent to the Norwich depot! Can never ever get through to the Ipswich depot via phone so called head office customer services. "We are terribly sorry sir, we'll upgrade the service to AM for tomorrow". Turned up at 2pm!!! They don't even know what AM means!

Sorry, rant over.

I've just had a gearbox delivered by www.postvan.co.uk, £18 up to 35 kg's and will do next day delivery, only do weekdays and someone needs to be home to collect but I'm sure they'd deliver to your place of work.

Will second that one! Most (well a lot of!) car parts companies use them and I have NEVER had an issue with any of their deliveries.

Some good suggestions there, folks.

Time for some on-line research!

Cheers,
David

Used these guys to post some Cortina calipers & uprights. Think it was just under £12.00.
