I realise a lot of people don't rate hammerite but they do a really nice metallic blue - is it likely to be OK for the head/block? How bad could it be if not?

Was also thinking light metallic green as there are remnants of that left and it looks kind of nice too but probably no hammerite in that colour - any alternatives maybe?

Nowt wrong with Hammerite on Blocks aslong as its applied correctly
Everything must be cleaned properley before application
Guy Croft uses Hammerite on his Blocks

Thinned the First coat and then applied the Second before the First had dried


Block is Hammerite Blue (Brushed)

Head is Hammerite Silver (Spray)

Cam Cover is Plastikote Super Enamel

It'll be fine as persky says.

I would avoid the exhaust area of the head (I usually leave heads bare TBH) and just do the block.

I used to Hammerite all of my race engine blocks, but I used the spray Hammerite

After fully cleaning the block I would put a heat gun inside the block to get it warm and then spray the outside, always lasted well and never peeled

Hammerite spec:
Temperature Intermittent Use:
Minus 30 degC (minus 22 degF) upto 150 degC (302degF) maximum.
Resistance:
Continuous Use: Reccommended maximum 80 degC (176 degF)
