Any ideas?
Finally got my reg from DVLA today so got the plates made and went for a spin.
Car was fine for the first couple of miles then coming home every time I gave it some the clutch slipped.
Now the clutch will hardly set the car off and it doesn't release until right at the top of the pedal travel.
The Engine/clutch are standard and the unit is Brand new and had only covered 6 miles prior to today.
Could it be that i just need to upgrade the springs?
The unit is a 2002 but hasn't been used properly until today but it was fine throughout the IVA etc.
Clutch rod still appears to have the same movement in and out.
Any ideas, it just seems a bit premature/strange for a new engine etc,

What you using to operate the clutch ?

Have you for want of the correct expression "pushed it in to far" you can, if so its end cover off release pressure on springs you will here it "bounce" back then manufacture a clutch pedal stop to prevent it happening again.

Or, what oil you using ?

I wouldnt say its unusual. I think nearly everyone ends up fitting higher pressure clutch springs from Barnett...

these are a wet clutch i think so depends on the oil you use also i think??

check operation of clutch are you using the dax clutch slave kit etc??

What oil do you have in it? You need a bike specific oil, not a car oil.

Did you soak the plats before fitting?

Is the clutch release returning fully and got play in it when released?

All those have been blamed in the past.

Fit a Barnett clutch, correct oil and never have the problems again

I'll swap you some of your slip for some of my bite. R1Becca is a biting monster and still working on making her more friendly to drive from a standing start.

barnett springs and bike specific oil would be my choice too..

check clutch pedal free play do you have the dax pedal mod on the car check the push rod is not too long had probs with mine put hd springs in it cheers

As good as Barnett springs are it still sounds a bit strange if it's died that quickly. I'd suspect wrong oil or a mis-aligned actuating mechanism.

The oil is bike specific, Silkolene 10/40 Semi Synth and I'm using the Dax slave cyl and pedal mod kit etc and there is clearence when the clutch is released, so it looks like uprated springs or a complete clutch then,
