witch injection system to choose?
The Riddler - 8/4/05 at 03:27 PM

hi,

I am building a luego velocity, and now I need some sort of fuel injection system for my 2 liter zetec, as I live in belgium, I can't use carbs.

I have been looking at the alpha, omex and motec ecu's and kits, has anybody got some experience with them or do you recommend another system?

FYI I need the full package, inlet, throttles, Fuel rail, ECU, Harness, Injectors, etc

all suggetions are welcome

Most of the throttle bodies supplied with the kits i've seen int he uk ar all made by jenvey.

My vauxhall engine throttle body kit was supplied with a dta ecu, others you haven't mentioned include emerald and mbe.

I have heard good advise is to use a system that your local rolling road/engine tuning shop is familiar with if you need to go and get it mapped once installed.

Other features or options required and price are the other points to consider imho.

Ned.

I have used Omex and that is very good.

Going to have a go with the MegaSquirtnSpark Extra on the next one as I am sure I will get some real enjoyment out of sorting it all out!!

There are plenty of people out there using it and I am sure a base map to get you close is available from somebody.

There are some people on here that have used it. I am looking into it and the more I see the more I like.

www.msefi.com is the forum for indepth details....

we have used the standard ford EFi system from a 16v escort.

use a mondeo 2lt plasitc manifold for the height problem.

we had her started today. smooth idle, awesome throttle response.

its fairly easy to wire in to.
