Mazda engine weight?

Does any one on this forum know the weight of the engine and 5 speed transmission of a Mazda Protégé (or Familia). I have been trying to weigh mine but my means are not reliable.

If no one does, a close enough approximation would be the weight of a Miata engine and transmission.

HI Philippe. Someone on the locostusa site posted a lot of engine weights. Do a search on there and let us know how you do. I know my CA18DET weighs about 435 - it's massive.

Given the Canadian location, I'm going to guess that's pounds rather than kilos!

An '06 Miata 2.0 NC and 5 speed weighs 165kg with exhaust manifold/cat, AFM, alternator etc. No oil in eng or box.
