99 R1 RPM sensor and speedo sensor feeds
Hello all,
Have tried wiring in mt gear indicator for my R1 engined MK Indy but not sure I have tapped into the right wires for the spped and the RPM, so where
do these originate from so I can tap into them there?
Thanks
Lee

Speed is taken from the gearbox - there are 3 wires coming from the sensor.
If you have a speedohealer then you should be able to find it by tracing the wires back to the engine. I am not in the garage now, but if I remember
correctly it is mid way between the prop adaptor and the clutch cover, and towards the bottom of the gearbox.
Can't remember where the revs are taken from.

rev counter = yellow/black goes from ignitor unit to rev counter (std clocks)
as already said speedo is the triangular plug between gearbox output and clutch cover
(1)white, (2)blue/yellow, (3)black/blue into loom
(1)pink, (2)orange/red, (3)black/white out of gearbox
