Blackbird TPS Wiring Help

Having hackled up the injection blackbird TPS to the megasquirt and got it functioning properly i now need to turn my head to the TPS feed that the stock Honda ignition box requires....

I have 3 wires comming out of the ignition box:

Yellow with a red trace
Blue with a green trace
yellow with a blue trace

The blue/green wire goes to earth through the box so i can connect this to the wire on the injection tps that goes to earth.

But which way round do the other wires go? i dont have a carb blackbird tps to compare to the readings i have from the injection tps and typically the wire colours from carb & injection TPS are different.....

Can some one test their carb blackbird TPS for me and tell me the following resistance readings so i can compare it to my TPS readings in order to get the wires round the right way.....

1.Yellow with a red trace
2.Blue with a green trace
3.yellow with a blue trace

Closed throttle:
between 1&2
Between 2&3
Between 1&3

Fully open throttle:
between 1&2
Between 2&3
Between 1&3

Cheers

Ash

ash, would love to help as i have a carb bird. dont realyy know how to. tried to measure ohms today on output of TPS which has the correct coloured wires as per your post but numbers didnt change when throttle open or closed. Does it make a difference they are not connected and the car doesnt run.?

Hi,

Bugger thats a mess!

I might be able to help with the speed sensor as i dont use mine (i'll do you a swap if its got the wires still on it (no plug though)
No probs when i tested the injection TPS i set the multimeter to the correct range (Kohms) then just put one lead on each pin in turn and checked the resistance first on closed then open throttle.

If you cant manage to get a reading then can you send me a pic of the TPS so i can see in what order they enter the tps (assuming Mr Honda kept things the same from carb to injection!) also which way does the throttle spin open to closed...

Cheers

Ash.

no worries, a swap would be great if you can. Will post some pictures tommorrow.

If you look down the carbs (along) with the TPS nearest to you I.E. alternator away towards clutch the throttle opens anti clock.

Does that make sense.

Do you have skype or similar and i can show my weak effort to check resistance for you live..

also do you have a haynes for it as the wiring diagrams are in there. I do and could copy / photo.

from memory the yellow with red trace as it the top of the entry to the TPS and the blue ( darkest one) at the bottom side.
