DigiDash2 Gear Indicator
Got a DigiDash2 lite with a blade engine.
The speedo is spot on but it wont tell me what gear im in, it will say N for neutral ok but ither wise it says 6th or C.
I think C means confused
If the speedo works correctly im assuming that the ratios i entered work ok which means that it shuold be able to tell the gear from the prop RPM and
engine RPM?
or am i missing a setting somewhere?

I had the same problem. It turned out to be incorrect final drive ratio.
Does the rev counter work ok?

Presumably you need to enter gear ratios for each gear. Assuming Speed and RPM displays are correct they're the only thing that can be wrong
(unless there's a software bug)
I'd re-check them and then call ETB to chat about the problem.

The speedo is correct in every gear so the gear ratio and final drive must be right?...
aye i'll send an email to ETB and see what they say.

The speedo only depends on the prop magnets and has nothing to do with the gear ratio's. They are only for the gear display, so it's
perfectly possible that your gear ratio's are wrong. There are other settings for the gears too, which the software gives you which could also
be wrong.

Gav - Check the Pulses Per Cycle are correct. By default this was set to 2 on mine giving me double the RPM and also it couldn't calculate the
gear I was (it did exactly as yours). I set this to 4 (as in 4 coil packs) and it's now spot on.
You can access this setting via the dash or the software.
As GP said above- The speed is calculated from your prop magnets. Check your gear ratios too though as suggested. I'll post mine up if you like
( 919 Blade) but they came from Haynes manual and they seem pretty accurate.
I assumed C was "Clutch" on mine but I could be wrong!
Cheers

OK, i've just gone back to basics to work out the values you enter using the ETB software.
I remember when i first go the dash that i had to enter the ratios directly into the dash, but since then i have had the firmware updated to pass SVA,
now you just seem to enter the values into the software on the PC then enter the output values (Speedo cal, Gear cal) into the dash
Could someone with a fireblade engine confirm these values please?
Pulses per cycle: 4
Primary transmission: 1.520:1
1st: 2.769
2nd: 2.000
3rd: 1.578
4th: 1.400
5th: 1.250
6th: 1.174
This gave me a a gear cal of 1000 which seems to be to nice a round figure, the value that was actually in the dash is 3266 i dont know where this
value came from as i dont remember working it out (this value may indeed be the problem!).
For reference my speedo values which gives the correct speed rating for prop mounted magnets are:
Diff ratio: 3.62
Wheels: 15 inch, 195 wide, 50 section
Speedo cal: 6438
Just waiting for my plates from DVLA so cannot go out and test the actual values right now.

Hi again Gav - I've just re-read the config from my dash and it's very very similar. Gear ratios are slightly different as you'd
expect between a 919 and 893.
Primary Ratio 1.521
Gear 1 2.727
Gear 2 1.933
Gear 3 1.600
Gear 4 1.400
Gear 5 1.263
Gear 6 1.167
My Gear Cal Factor from the dash is 1000 not 3266 as you found. As you suggested - this may be the problem with yours then!

What different figures do I need if the magnets are on the driveshafts?
Same setup as Gav but 954.

The ratio would be 1 instead of 3.62?
