Have you tried with the boot jumper disconected?
Can't remember of the top of my head how it works/the correct order, but do you need to turn it with the boot jumper disconnected and then follow the instructios?

Are you usinf the corect code for the MS version?

Can you access it through tuner studio?

Ive managed to get it to load the MS1 V3 code (looks like i was trying the MS2 code!) but i still cant connect to it using Megatune.

The computer sees the port, and the code just loaded (with lights flashing etc) but i still cant connect to megatune??

Ive got the stim, which im using to power the unit, and to test....

Any ideas?

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Have you set the connection settings in Megatune?
Have you got portchecker, or something similar. It's a life saver when trying to connect MS.

Its definitely working on the port. COM1 says "Bowling & Grippo V2.xxx or V3.0" at 9600bps.

Im sure the issue is with the files on the megatune software. Is this a possibility?

when i start megatune, it comes up with;

"Controller version code does not match the signature in megasquirt-II.ini" then goes on to ask if i want to terminate megatune...

Go into the configurator and select the correct code branch (you currently are trying to use the MS2 INI file for MS1 code).

Personally I would ditch MegaTune for TunerStudio (http://www.efianalytics.com/TunerStudio/). TunerStudio should be smart enough to use the correct INI file, or download it if you don't have it on the computer.

TunerStudio is good agreed.

The only problem when using both is that the .msq files throw some warnings in TunerStudio (Tae and Mae rates units) which when corrected in TunerStudio won't work in MegaTune (MegaTune wants the wrong units of "ms".

I agreed on the benefits of TunerStudio, but when things are not working its always nice to go back to software that you KNOW worked (rather than a potentially dodgy beta).

Have you considered moving to the MS1 Extra or Hi-Res code branches? They do have rev limits along with other goodies.
