Fuel gauge sender range.
Picking up a point from another posting earlier today about fuel gauges and a digital dash.
I've not decided what instruments to use yet but do need to fit my fuel sender, since it will not be easily accessible after the body goes on.
So the question is what type of sender to use?
I have a swing arm type which I bought with my kit and which measures 260ohms down and 0homs in the up (full) position - which I assume is OK for a
typical electronic car instrument (say ETB or RMD). It would be useful if someone could confirm this.
But I notice the KOSO RXN2 dash I'm considering can only be ranged for 100ohms for 500ohms. I recon I can put a 160ohm resistor in parallel to
give me a suitable range - OK it will not be linear (50% full reading 72%, 25% full reading 45%) but full and empty will be OK assuming 100ohms =
empty and 0 ohms = full. Otherwise it will read backwards.
Any advice?

worth a try - your sums are correct; it won't be linear but will be better than without the resistor and you shouldn't run out of petrol.
