Immobilisers.

Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a decent immobiliser for a locost type thing?

Not massively concerned about cost, but as always cheaper is good.

Cheers

i got a transponder based system but in essense the same as touch key, it's a box of magic that contains 2 relays and isolates 2 circuits, something like fuel pump and coil i think mine was limited to 16amps per circuit

it will work fine on carbs. It just cuts the power to say the coil and fuel pump.

I had mine on the starter and coil.

I used one which has an RFID tag on they keys. No faffing with a touch pad or socket on the dash, just put your keys in with the tag attached and away you go. No tag, no start

Flak

That avatar is waaaay better than the old one!

interesting thread this as i have always toyed with the idea of getting an alarm and always thought that a system for a motorbike would be a good route to go down, not really looked into any further than simply thinking about it though..

If you get a transponder type like Flak suggests make sure you wire it up so that even when its raining and you have a helmet on you can tell it has been activated.

I have one and on a couple of occasions I've spent time trying to start the car only to realise that the immobiliser is still on.

Maybe its just my immobiliser that is crap -its a Falcon one.
