Crank sensor wiring

Hoping to wire up my crank sensor tomorrow, problem is the scrappy one I've bought only comes with about 6 inches of cable attached. As I understand it this is shielded cable so what sort do I need to buy to run it back to the EDIS and how do you join shielded cable, some sort of connector?

I just nicked some shealded cable from a car in the scrap yard.
- Some vauxhall that i got the TPS from (also took cable for tps) but it was just two core sheadled cable.

If you want something for tomorrow, what about usb cable? Most people will have a 1m usb extension lead if you have bought a few pendrives over your time.

think the standard zetec wiring harnes is shielded cable upto the first connector but then just run as a twisted pair cable to the ECU
