bypassing immobiliser?
have stripped down some of my donor now but there appears to be a fault on the alarm. as soon as voltage is applied to the battery the alarm sounds
and will not turn off. i have stipped most interior pannels/ carpets and located the alarm box which was under the seat. i have disconnected alarm by
un plugging the main connector block (loom) at the alarm box. i can now connect battery and all electrics work fine, windows, mirors, electric
roof, lights, hazzards. but engine start button does not start the car.its still immobilised and was wondering how to bypass this to try to start the
car?

You'll need to trace the wires back from the alarm box.. Good alarm/immobilisers have 2 "cuts" in the ignition circuit.
Check for wires joining either side of cut wires, if u see what i mean.
If its a factory fit one, it may be trickier to find them

if its an aftermarket alarm it'll be simply an ignition wire cut in two and two wires from the alarm going to either side of the cars wire.
if its a factory one you'll have to trace each wire and try work out what they do...

Have you tried leaving the Car/battery/ Alarm "on charge" with another large battery or a powerful charger while its blarering away?.
If I ever let my Cat1 alarm go completely dead it needs a few minutes to charge the battery in the alarm sounder before the main alarm unit works
properly.

did the car come in with a logbook?
Do you have a V5?
Might worth trying to find the previous owner to ask for a code?

I wouldn't be surprised if the immobiliser was encoded into the ECU on an S2000
I don't think it'll be an easy job unless it's had an aftermarket one fitted.
Are you using the original key and is it a chipped one?
Edit - was just reading the M3 thread and put M3 and had that in my head!

I doubt it will be as easy as bypassing the immobilser. I would think the key will be coded to a receiver somewhere in the car which is probably
connected back to the ecu. I doubt very much you will be able to just put a couple of wires in and bypass a factory fit alarm/immob.
It sounds like the battery in the alarm sounder is flat and needs to charge up.
Have you spoken to a Honda garage yet and asked them about it? they will be able to tell you a possible reason for the alarm sounding everytime you
connect the battery. Alternatively have you tried a Honda S2000 forum? there must be one.
