Alternator Wiring
Hi,
Would I be right in saying that the alternator needs only two wires. One to a charing light on the dash (via a fuse) and one direct to the battery or
positive terminal of the starter motor?
Cheers,
Pat...

Ive just been down this route, youre best bet is to search the threads on this subject, there are loads !
Basically, one wire (+) comes from ignition run position, to warning light, then to alternator small connection. The other wire (the big one) goes
from the alternator to the + side of battery or + live side of starter soleniod.
It worked for me !!

Cheers.
Just been looking at posts - should have done that first!
Just wondering if the thick wire (or two thin in some cases) needed to go to the starter motor as well as the battery, but looks like it will be fine
if they just go to the battery as it is easier on my set up.

With alternators with 3 blade terminnals its is best to connect all 3 (ie the 2 large blades in parallel as the large blade connectors are under
massive current load and are prone to arcing and burning.
