Crash helmet intercom

Hi all,
I asked for advice a while back on here and got little advice and feedback on recommended intercoms. No offense intended just must of got pushed off the front page quickly!!

I have since found this:

http://www.alan-uk.com/mc/products_intercoms_ae600.shtml

It looks like it does what I want for a good price. Has anybody actually got or used one of these??

Anyone got something similar? I would like to know sound quality and volume. Just a general review if possible.
Thanks,

I've got a Autocom - works really well - not cheap, but worth the money.

I've tried a few and now run these:
linky

not the cheapest but good clear and reliable.

You only need to buy it once and move it between vehicles.

I've just had another go at sending it on here this time. Was good to meet you too, can't wait to get mine on the road either, though I suspect rowing will prevent too many early weekend meets

I'd still go for Q2.
No wires, no plugs, no walkie Talkies.
Will blue tooth to other Q2's within 500m which makes convoys easy

Website link

Special Features for the scala rider Q2 Include:

Bike-to-Bike intercom communications between three bikers within a range of
500 m / 1,640 ft.*
Rider-to-Passenger motorbike intercom communication: Both Rider and Passenger may communicate via intercom as well as independently conduct mobile phone calls, listen to the MP3 player in stereo or the FM radio.
Full Duplex: No longer the walkie-talkie syndrome where one party can only speak when the other is silent. The scala rider Q2 motorbike intercom
allows riders and passengers to talk and listen simultaneously.
Backwards compatibility - Motorbike intercom with earlier scala rider models ** for Rider-to-Passenger Intercom communication

The scala rider Q2 is also available with a corded microphone to fit the tightest full-faced helmets.
Multiple Device Connectivity (“MDC”)

Thanks to MDC technology the scala rider Q2 offers parallel connectivity as follows:

Two additional scala rider Q2 headsets on motorbike intercom mode and one of the following Bluetooth devices:

Mobile Phone (either directly or via a GPS device)
GPS device
Adapter
Priority Management: No need to manually disconnect from motorbike intercom or music to receive incoming phone calls or GPS instructions!

Additional entertainment features:

Embedded FM Radio
Connection to an MP3 Player (cable included

I asked the same question a week or so ago on PistonHeads and the majority of the replies recommended the Autocom system.

I don't intend using mine very much (and being a tight @rse) don't want to spend £150/£200, the only time I will use it is when I have a passenger on a hoon or run out somewhere, which will not be too often

I have found an Acumen KT5 intercom kit, reduced from £90 to £25 and am tempted but don't want to buy it if they are garbage - has anyone used/tried this kit
