Gutted!

Been figuring out how im going to wire the engine so that it looks tidy and easy to remove the engine if (When) the cam chains need doing.

I sat down at the table tonight, to find that the DB37 had been wired backwards, and when i changed them over, my soldering iron (being gas and not exactly small!) appled too much heat and melted the plastic around the final pin!

D'oh! Was hoping to get the MS mounted and fitted tomorrow!

Never mind, its another trip to Maplins for another DB37 instead.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Doh! The DB connectors can be a pain to solder properly! Oh ETA - use small bits of heatshrink on each pin when you have soldered in each wire. Makes it much neater and reduces the risk of s short with solder bridging the pins.

Gas irons are way to hot for delicate soldering. Invest in a 15w electric one, much easier to use on things like DB connectors They are only about £10 as well.
