ok...
im thinking you want a solid block with 2 holes drilled and tapped to fit the sender and fan switch, with a tube eitherside to join into the heater
hose?? letting the coolant through the middle?

pretty much. what i had in mind was a sort of 'match box' size bit of ali, with the holes drilled and tapped.
the idea was to then get this welded onto a piece of ali tube, which has a hole cut in the top to accomodate the ali block

ah, a very good point. remember that top gear race from lands end to john o groats? think there would normally be a plane bringing stuff up here from
your way. sending by road might take a little longer, ie a day in the sorting office, a day to drive it up, a day in the sorting office here, out to
the local post office, then out with the postie. guess its likely to be about 4 days delivery on post now

A fan switch is best mounted on or close to the radiator.
Easy way to fit a fan switch if the rad dosen't have a tapped holes is an adaptor in the top hose tapped for a M14 fan switch (as used on 1980s
and 1990s Volvo and BMW various swiitching temps available)
Temperature sensor should be on the cylindr head hot side of the thermostat.
