Wiring up Ford factory instrument clusters

I was considering using the gauges I had ( 1972 smiths mgb current sensing tach and alalog speedo but I dont seem to be having any luck with the current sense on an electronic ign. I have several Ford instrument clusters and individual gauges out of them. Ford Crown victory police interceptor speedos and tachs. 140 mph ones. Also the 140 mph speedos and tach from the mercury marauder ones. The speedos have 4 terminals on them and the tachs have 4 as well.
The tach terminals are ground and B+ (assumed +12volt) the other two terminals are sig in ( which i would think is coil signal as per usual and one called cyl. That one has me stumped.
I will have to hook up to a signal generator on the weekend to test but was hoping someone as already wired up the seperate ford gauges and maybe save me some work. The gauges are all around 2005 or so.
Any help?
Dale

Thanks
Dale
