led side repeaters
morning all,
because i need stick on side repeaters for IVA it looks like I'll have to get some LED units.
I just have a normal flasher relay for the indicators so will I need some kind of resistor in the circuit to make them all flash properly?

No, you only need the resistor if all the lights are LED. The regular bulbs you have will pull enough current to get the flasher switching
properly.
Beware some of the LED units being sold as side indicators as they are actually E marked as side markers and don't have the correct field of
view. Someone here recently failed IVA on them iirc.

my rear lights are LED but I have a resistor in both rear indicator circuits so they all flash at the correct speed now. They didnt before I fitted
the resistors.
I'm planning on fitting these:

You can buy special flasher relays that don't rely on resistance to flash at the correct speed. Ultraleds sell them IIRC.

The resistor you've already got should be fine then (but as ^^^ a proper flasher is a better solution).
I'd phone them and confirm they are IVA ok and e-marked as side repeaters (preferably in writing considering how much IVA retests cost). Saying
"SVA ok" is irrelevant as this is one area known to have been tightened up

some ideas for repeaters, nice but dought mr iva would like them even if they work well, all because no E mark, but thought some might like a look,
shame all the mirrors with repeaters only show to the front of the vehicle, although some of the american suv/pickups have a repeater in the glass or
the mirror so can be seen from the back, but see what you think of these

i can't find the amber ones of these but you can get them in amber, they are cool, didn't know you could get them in stop/tail, might
have to change mine, can get them in a 4" round light as well.
