Sierra Fuel Gauge resistance.

Spent yesterday fitting a Fuel Sender to the tank of the Indy. It is the type that "swings" up and down with a float on the end.

All works OK, other than it is not "sensitive" enough at low tank conditions. It will give FULL tank when full, but showing empty about half way emty. I am guessing the resistance is not matched with the Sierra Dash Fuel gauge that I am using.

Anyone know the resistance needed for a Sierra Gauge ?

VDO Fuel tank sender

I will be installing a VDO sender and Gauge and on the instructions there´s a detail of how to make it work.
I think if you arrange the float somehow that the float is at the bottom of the tank when the Gauge is reading empty.
You will be using part of the Sender travel only.
I hope I explained myself.

Yep, i see what you mean.... It's just that I dont see the sender has the range of adjustment to bend/adjust the arm to show empty when at the bottom of the "tank".

Have you any means to adjust the sender as in Diagram C, making B longer may accomplish what you´re looking for.
