Indicators interfere with other lights

When the hazards or indicators are in operation they cause the front and rear lights to dim as well as the lights on the dash instruments. This was a reason for failing my recent SVA. The amount they dim by is tiny, only visible if you look really closely. The effect is present when the engine is both running and switched off.

Any suggestions please as hours of picking through the loom, checking earths and replacing connectors has proved fruitless.

As a man formally of the smoke pipe trade (Sparky) It would appear that the feed from your battery to the fuse box may be undersized. uprate this cable and your problem should go away. High resistance at the battery terminal crimp can do it to. Try another battery even new ones come in faulty.

at college they told use about the skin effect and electrons....liars smoke pipes i say....reason when smoke comes out thing stops working.....must have run on smoke........LOL

Earths would be my first choice too - my 2p's worth!

That and the battery condition...

Sorted it.
It was the battery that was the problem.
Changed the battery and everything seems to be fine.

Thanks for your help.
