What engine was it off? How many cylinders?
How many cylinders on the new engine.
Many tacho's have dip switches under a rubber gromet on the back to switch for 4,6, or 8 cylinders

I drink to forget
I breath to pi55 my ex wife off (and now my ex partner)

It has a label on the back stating 4 cylinders. Came off a Pinto powered kit car. Going on my 1300 Locost race car (x Flow)
There is a rubber gromet but I have not looked under it.

Is it reading double, ie are you using a wasted spark system like megajolt?
Cheers

Cousin Cleotis...Google, Why ooh why did I not go there first..
Ta very much.
As for the reading I am using a Bestek system which worked well with the outgoing rev counter, but the new one reads higher (not double ).
At Tickover (1000RPM) its reading 1400RPM.
