Xflow starters

Does anyone know if there is a direct swap starter to replace the 3 bolt inertia job fitted as standard to escort xflows. Mine failed today and it would be good to have a list of possibles to give the motor factors on the off chance they have one of the alternatives in stock.

Nope the small 3 bolt inertia starter was a only Ford mod because the 2 bolt starters on MK1 Cortinas weren't properly located on the bellhousing and kept knackering the drive. Also you can fit a pre-enage because the ring gear will be chamfered on the wrong side (unless you have a double sided ring gear).
Either LSUK or your local alternator over haul specialist (much much cheaper) should be able to get you sorted.

The failure is in the main bus bar going into the field winding. Snapped clean in two.
Partco are getting me a starter for 23 quid plus vat.
