lighting wiring

can you tell im doing electrics?
Im going to be putting in all the switches etc and gettign the light circuits going... just so im sure im on the right track, you want to have low rate wires on the switches going to relays which switch the high rating stuff?
so everything behind the dash should mostly be small gauge wires going to the dip/main relay and the flasher relay?
what kind of rating would you use?

cheers again!

Switching a relay will only draw a few mA, so something small from fusebox to switch and switch to relay, something suitably sized for the load between fuse to relay and relay to lights.
