Wiring a Start Button

Has any one got a simple diagram to show how the connect up a start button when you have an ignition switch.

Which ignition switch do I buy if I want to use a start button?

Cheers,
IainL

I sent the ignition 2 terminal to one side of the start button and the other side of the start button to the solenoid.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

You can have both ignition switch and starter switch if you wish. I've got a standard Sierra ignition switch and a Savage starter switch wired in parallel so I can use either one depending on whether I am in or out of the car.

Why not have the key and button to start? What thief would figure that out in a hurry? Turn for ignition, turn for start and press button.

Kindest Regards,
