Wiper Wiring

Just wiring up the wipers and as i've got no column stalks i'm using a 3 position wiper toggle switch.

Question..... to get the park facility can i just run a 12V ignition live to the park terminal on the motor? thus powering the motor when on the park cycle, with the on & off of the wipe controled by the switch?

Will it do any damage having the 12V connected to the park all the time or does it need to 'disconnect' when you switch the wipers on via the toggle switch?

Cheers

Ash.

it can be live all the time.. the park switch is just that..... a switch. you could if you prefer have an ignition controlled live to the park switch so the wipers will stop mid way on your screen for easier maintenance.

if it helps i wrote an article on rewiring cars years ago and it gives wiring diagrams, every thing you need to rewire a lotus "7" style car.....or any others you want to tackle, i could post a link if you think it would help.

thanks but for me it was just the wipers and heater are the most complex bit of wiring in the whole car.
