starter motor help

I have just about finished my wiring today. everything works apart from the starter motor, would not even click over. I really dont know what to look for now. Any pointers would be great.

how do you test starter motor off the loom?

Have you got a trigger wire from the ignition switch in the cranking position to it to throw the solenoid ?

You need to check you have

1 a permanant live to to solenoid (big thick wire)
2 a feed that goes live from the starter switch (small wire on solenoid)
3 an earth (usually through the starter body bolted to the engine)
4 a working starter motor
