Head lights
Fitted new head lights with twin bulbs, one main beam, one dip.
Dip works, but when I switch to main the dip goes out, but when I pull the stalk to flash the main, the dip stays on, which it should.
Both worked great on the double filament bulb..... Anyone any ideas?.............. Help

Thought the dip stayed on when the main was activated?

As far as I know, the dip should go out with the main selected, unless your using the flash function.
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

read it again everyone!
as i understand, the new set up has 2 bulbs, one for dip, one for main. like BMWs do, when main is on dip stays on
if it was a single twin filament bulb then yes, dip would go off, like on a ford focus, sierra etc, but its not
for a single bulb set up, you'd have a changeover type relay, so dip goes off, main comes on. i don't know electrics, but it will mean a
little rewiring, think you need a simple on off relay, not sure how it wires in though

Before you rewire to make both beams active on main beam, make sure your headlight wiring is capable of handling the extra current - remember that you
will be pulling the best part of 20 Amps and most 'standard' wiring is not up to the job.
