Alternator mounts for 2.0 blacktop
Hello averyone.
A few kind people from here have given me pictures of how they mount their alternators on a 2.0 blacktop zetec. Now here is my small yet important
problem. I have not got any facilities to weld or fabricate anything, so making up top and bottom mounts is proving to be challenging. I already have
an alternator that I want to use (thanks to Carl Knight) but having real problems in working out how to mount.
So Im calling on a favour from locost world. Ha anybody made the mounts them selves, and what are the chances of making me some up. A few beer tokens
for it of course! Im away all next week but when Im back I have a bit of time that I want to use to work on the car, so any help, advice, would be
very much appreciated.
I will attach a picture of my alternator to show which type and the mount if that helps.
Here's hopeing for some more locost help!!!
thanks
Andy

Depending on where you want to put it..... Mine is down where the air con pump was.
I used the air con bracket modded a bit and just a little welding there, you may be able to just bend up a mounting bracket like that. actually most
of the mods to the bracket came from putting the engine mount behind it!
Couple of pics.

I have done a few myself and it an easy enough undertaking.
I have mine under the inlet but have made one to fit like coozers.
Its a shame you dont live closer i could have knocked you one up
but i need the alternator to do it.
You will also need a ribbed idler pulley.
Andy.

I made one for my silvertop mounted on opposite side due to clearance issues. To be honest it might be worth buying/ borrowing a cheap welder and
having a go yourself. Not too difficult, but setting up to run parallel to other ancilliaries is vital. Best mocking up on car to make sure all is
well. It may be possible to buy one ready made if all else fails.

Never actually welded anything before so would probably do more damage than good!!!
