dash 2
anyone run a racetechnology dash 2 one here? i have one and just getting round to setting it all up and have afew questions

I know a few of the RGB boys run them, try asking in the BEC section or on the RGB Forum.

I am using one. What info are you after. It has taken me a while to put mine together. Did you get all their sensors?

ive got one and couldnt set it up. i dont do computers! andy chalmers on here sells them and sets them up for a living,very good he is. he is rally
technology on ebay too

Hi,
I'm pulling most info from my Omex only using there oil temp and oil pressure, it's the fuel gauge I most concerned about getting working

fuel gauge has a series of resistances you have to plot on a graph at various levels of fuel!
what sender are you using mate? as you may find resistances on line!

It depends on the type of fuel sensor it is. I have just ordered the tube type VDO ones with insulated return and would calibrate it to the dash. The
westfield Mob prepared a spreadsheet that should help to set it up. since the VDO sensors are x - xx Ohm you can calibrate the sensor to the dash.

Finally, you can only pull a max of 100mA from the dash so you need to wire a resistor into the sensor cable.I used 1K resistors

Thanks alot, unsure on the sender but it's a two wire fitting, is maplins a good bet for that 1k resister?
So if I fit that inline and mesure the resistance on a volt metre just input that into the dash at various fuel levels

Femster did you get your oil pressure gauge/ sender up and running?? Always good to hear a feedback of a problem solved.
the fuel gauge we found the easyest to set up to be honest. Just start with an empty tank and fill it up 5ltrs at a time and enter the data to the
graph. It then works out its own equation.
Now its almost a year since I set up the one I installed in a mates rally car but IIRC the confusion you are all having is of metering the resistance.
The dash 2 reads voltages ( again IIRC) and you need to build a potentiometer divider using the correct resistor based on your own original fuel
sender resistance range. this is to save overloading the 5v ref output from the dash2 ( there is a max current draw as I recall ).
All the info is on the website on how to do this.
Again I'll say it's a cracking bit of kit.

Use the info from the westfield link and use 910 Ohm resistors. This will mean you can use their spreadsheets to work everything out. Source them
from RS Electronics.
