Chiller
I want to install a cooler into my mini bus, I have been offered a 240v16can chiller display unit. On e-bay I can buy a 12v to 240v inverter with
80watt output, would this be sufficient to power the above chiller and what about the drain on the battery? the chiller is some distance away and the
seller does not know the power needed.

first question,.. Is 16 cans enough?
Seriously, the first question:
is it a fridge with a compressor or a chiller with a heat pump and fan?
The former will require 3x the current to start the compressor than to run but will keep stuff cold, the later will pull 5amps DC and cool by about
20C max.
If you ask the donor of the chiller unit for a model number then a quick google will reveal all. After that it should be possible to determine the
suitability or otherwise.

As far as the drain on the battery it's a good idea to run all interior electrics off of a leasure battery charging through a split charging
relay, that way the vehicle battery isn't discharged when using lights /fridge etc. Would one off the portable cool boxes be able to cope with
16 cans?
