Chiller

Following on from a earlier post I have been offered the following cooler which I want to install in my mini bus, I have asked the seller and the only info he can see on labels is 13A 250V and one on the back of fridge says 1PH 220 - 240V - 50hz.

On e-bay I can buy a 12v to 240v inverter with 80watt output, given the small amount of info above can you caculate if I would be able to run the cooler with the inverter. Thanks Barry

No way.

2,990watts is the power required for 13amps at 230 volts.

You would need a 3.5kvA generator to run that.

If it's for fitting in a motor home they typically use an evaporative type cooling method not a compressor as it sounds like yours is.

Short answer is no you need more / accurate info.

I would be very surprised if 80w will run anything bigger than a laptop which might even be marginal.

I don't think that you can calculate accurately what size of inverter is needed based on your info, if it does require 13amps at 240v then that equals 3120watts which would need a huge inverter.

Why have you posted another thread with the same title / content as the first?

Davie
