Wiring Problems

My Jago Geep Uses a escort mk2 loom, im having problems with the lights and wipers ie only some are working, is there anything specific that is in the loom i need to look for?

Earth fault on the column stalk switch blocks, - fuses? Are they switched earth or switched live? (not familiar with the escort, just the Sierra).

The first step is to check the power supply and earths at each lamp with a multimeter -- glass fibre bodies are very prone to earthing problems.

Is the fuse box the original Ford item with ceramic fuses ? if so the fuse box is the next suspect Escorts of this era suffered badly from corroded fuse boxes, apart from holding the fuses the fuse box on these cars acted a as a main junction box for all the electrics.
