Live Feed from battery
I'm just starting my wiring for my J15 and I'm going to custom build the loom myself.
Must wiring diagrams show the heavy duty cable going from the battery to the starter and then the alternator and then all the other live feeds come
from the battery.
My question is, is it OK to provide all the additional live feeds from the alternator rather than run another cable from the battery?

I used the loom from my donor MX5 and that is battery, starter, alternator, fusebox. Only 1 cable off the battery.

Might not a good idea to take feeds from alternator but you can connect the alternator to the battery side of the starter and connect the feed
to the fuse box from that.
However it might be better to fit a holder for a 180 amp Mega Fuse in the engine bay connect the starter and fuse box to battery via the
fuse.

I would second that

blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

I've used these guys in the past www.polevolt.co.uk
They have some wiring diagrams for a rally car on their website http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Wiring_Info.html
Some things aren't needed on a kit so can be left out but the diagrams are really easy to follow and you can buy all the bits off their site.
I used a highlighter and once each wire was run in I coloured in on the drawing then coloured the end once terminated. that way nothing gets missed
