Horn Malfunction

So I've discovered a problem with my horn. Have used the ubiqitous Sierra steering column, and wired it up thru the standard collector ring. Have now encountered the issue where the horn sounds independently, even when I've removed the complete horn button assembly.

Searching thru this site, I found an earlier horn wiring problem, and subsequent discussion, where it was suggested that the live feed to the horn should be via a relay, with a single wire to the horn button, from which the connection to earth can be made.

If anyone else has used this wiring method, where should I place the relay? Am thinking it should be kept away from potential rain soaking, or provided with some form of waterproof protection. Will be very interested to read your comments.

Building a fury and a homemade wiring loom.
All relays are inside the bodyshell to the right of the
Instrument panel - and that includes a horn relay.
