Wiring loom
Hi there
I'm looking to build a wiring loom from scratch and am struggling to understand what gauge of wire and relays I need.
The car is a Robin Hood 2B with a 2.0 zetec, megajolt and bike carbs so pretty straight forward.
Is there a resource on here or does anyone know a 'simple' site anyone would recommend? The more Jack and Jill the better.

I used a sierra loom, unwrapped it and hung it on the garage wall like it was the car on its side then went through the wiring diagram in the manual
removing all the bits back from the fuse box that I didn't want.
Ended up with a very slim loom far to long for the 7 and simply trimmed back the wires to suit. The fuse box was very bare as well, simply moved all
the connectors into the top half of the box with the relays and cut the bottom half off!
Worked a treat on the car with no issues.

I bought this book and it certainly covers the basics such as wire guage etc. It has lots of sample wiring diagrams covering all sorts and gradually
getting more complicated. If you are doing your own loom then it would be a good start to cover all the basics and even suggests a method to follow to
do this.

IIRC snowy2 covered self built wiring looms on the forum a while ago , seemed pretty good to me.

I made one of these looms using the diagrams off polevolts website
http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Wiring_Info.html
Worked really well and you can buy all the bits you need off them. They do great modular fuse boxes

Really useful. Pity the guides aren't completed (The wire / fuse one particularly) but what is there will be used.
Thanks
