Hazard light problem

Hi all. I'm trying to get my newly acquired locost through an mot. All that's outstanding is the absence of working hazard lights.

Indicators work fine from the stalk. There is a 2 pin flasher relay that you can feel clunking when the indicators are on. Beside it there is a 3 pin flasher unit, but that also only had 2 wires to it. Is it likely that something has fallen off the 3rd terminal? Would it ever work with just 2 wires? Because the car has been messed about with in the past, there's redundant connectors everywhere, so it's not obvious what's what. It's such a mess, I'm not even sure I've found the correct switch for the hazards!

Any help appreciated! No photos sadly as the forum doesn't seem to like the format taken by my phone...

OK it's terminal p that's spare, which I believe is for a telltale, so that looks fine. So it's either the switch or the relay itself.
