Dynojet Power commander question

Me and my father in law both have cars with 919 cbr900 engines in.

My question is, why does his have a dynojet power commander fitted? and mine doesn't?!

From what I understand they are only for cars with FI? his is still running the carbs

Can anyone explain why there's one there please?

Is it definitely a Power Commander fuel adjustment computer rather than e.g. a Dynojet wideband lambda module? If so, is it actually wired in? Maybe the car had a fuel injected engine fitted previously, and someone went back to a carb'd 919 engine?

The Power Commander can also adjust ignition timing with the addition of another module, perhaps it's being used only for that function?

From what I remember it said power commander on it. I'll have to double check.

I just don't see the point in it, mine runs absolutely fine without it, and his runs the same?!
