Blacktop Spark Plugs

Hi all.

Just rounding up a few bits for the blacktop install.

Can anyone recommend grade of spark plugs required, for Blacktop, running R1 carbs, Nodiz ignition, will be track use only?

Cheers

Iridium plugs definitely do maintain their gap even better than Platinum but double Platinum plugs are so resistant to gap erosion any that they are rated by some manufacturers that they are scheduled not to be changed for "the life of the vehicle".

The only caveat is to use the revised spark plug gap recommend in a Ford TSB of 1mm (0.040" previously it was 1.3mm. It was reduced because the higher gap created excessive spark voltage which caused a breakdown of the Ford coil pack insulation,
