Modify the original from the Donner it can save a lot of time trying to adopt it to your car using the original wiring diagram it keeps the cost down
too.

I'm anal! I want a nice clean new simple loom, I'm not running wipers, washers and heaters etc so just simple stuff

make one.......
i have just rewired my car (including the engine ecu....) the cars electrics with all the switches and relays (15 relays and 20 fuses in total) only
took a weekend.....mind you i have done it a few times.
but rewiring a car is VERY EASY.........
there is an article on this forum showing you how.
sometimes you are the pigeon, most of the time the statue.

No problems......you don't have to use connectors the way I have shown you but it's a tried and tested system .......worked on several
cars with out issues....
