Small alternator

Hi,
Im looking for a small alternator for my Zetec conversion, I know people have used one of the Daihatsu ones. CAn anyone tell me which model of Daihatsu they are from and what the technical spec needs to be.

Cheers

The little 25A nipon denso ones ?

They are fitted to quite a few things - including Kubota diggers etc..

Have a look on eBay etc...

25 amp is a bit marginal, back in the 1970s a few small entry level cars like the Mini and Chevette were sold with 25 amp alternators and they were a constant pain in the backside for flat batteries, when they were replaced by the 35 amp ACR the problem went away.
A Seven style car may not have a heated rear window but they are mainly used for short runs and modern injection systems draw a fair whack of amps.

Diahatsu Charade, don't use the Kubota ones they are not rated to run at high rpm because they are made for diggers!

40 amp output.
